This year's New Mexico Chamber Music Festival will wrap up with two free concerts.

The weeklong New Mexico Chamber Music Festival was sponsored by the City of Albuquerque's Cultural Services Department, and calls two performances by students, the "highlight” of the event.

The first concert is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday June 7th at the University of New Mexico Center of the Arts' Keller Hall. It showcases 14 students who will be divided into four chamber groups– two piano quartets and two piano trios, plus additional configurations of piano/string duos and a string quartet. The performers were handpicked by the creator and organizer of the festival pianist Pamela Pyle. Pyle is a graduate of The Julliard School, New York City and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and currently an Associate Professor at the Univeristy of New Mexico.

The final concert is scheduled for Saturday, June 8th at 2 p.m.

The Albuquerque Film & Media Experience (AFME) is ready to take New Mexico to new levels with six world movie premieres and names that will make it one of the top movie festivals for the City of Albuquerque.

AFME’s slogan, “Get Your Kicks & Flicks on Route 66”, incorporates the theme as events will be spread out along Central Avenue from Albuquerque’s Historic Kimo Theater, all the way up to the Hiland district on our country’s Mother Road – Route 66.

“We are excited to support Albuquerque Film & Media Experience”, said Ann Lerner, Film Liaison for the City of Albuquerque in a news release. “We see this as a significant event that will add to Albuquerque’s international exposure for filmmaking and the arts for years to come.”

The film festival will include 80 domestic and foreign films, as well as intimate conversations, panels and time with industry leaders such as Robert Redford.
