Santa Fe holds bragging rights for 'Best Food' | Arts & Culture

The votes are in and according to the Rand McNally/USA Today Best of the Road Rally, Santa Fe is the small city with the best food in the country.

The Santa Fe Convention & Visitors Bureau along with 13 restaurants, five hotels, one tour company, a cooking school, the Santa Fe Bandstand program, the members of the Santa Fe Chocolate Trail, Santa Fe Spirits, local press, the City of Santa Fe and residents awed Best of the Road judges with full belly foods full of southwestern flavor.

“We barely had time to scratch the surface of the city’s amazing food scene,” said Santa Fe Convention & Visitors Bureau Marketing Director, Cynthia Delgado. “There was only time for a small sample of Santa Fe’s 200 plus restaurants, and every one could have wowed the judges.”

Online voting determined six finalist town in five different categories. Two-team judges visited the towns in a month-long cross country trip. The other categories were Most Beautiful, Most Fun, Most Patriotic and Most Friendly.

A one-hour show highlighting the competition will air on the Travel Channel, July 25.
