Accused kidnapper of girl held on $500,000 cash bond | Crime
There’s an update today in a local case that made national news back in August, as a man accused of kidnapping a South Valley girl before being chased down by a neighbor was back in court Friday.
Phillip Garcia is accused of pulling a six-year-old girl into his van near Blake and Unser on August 15.
The case got national attention because a neighbor, Antonio Diaz Chacon, saw it happen and chased the van.
As the neighbor pursued him, Garcia crashed the van and fled.
Chacon rescued the girl and was later hailed as a hero.
In court today at his arraignment, the judge kept Garcia’s bond at $500,000 cash only.
